Caterpillar Coco had always dreamt of the day she’d transform into a breathtakingly beautiful butterfly. She impatiently counted the days until she’d finally wrap herself in a cocoon to begin the transitioning process of blatant beauty. Until then, she’d gaze up enviously at the fluttering butterflies in the sky, boasting about their colourful wings and their effortless elegance.

When the day had finally arrived, Coco was undeniably ecstatic. She hung over from a sturdy tree branch, and eagerly commenced her hibernation as her cocoon gently wrapped itself around her. At first, Coco was a tad anxious over what it would feel like being trapped in a confined space. She was wary she might have a claustrophobic attack and throw a fit, rip her cocoon to shreds, and ruin her only chance of becoming a glorious butterfly, like a phoenix rising from its ashes with pride.

However, as soon as she felt the cocoon engulf her entirely, Coco described it to herself as a warm hug from nature taking its course. She felt incredibly comfortable and relaxed, and soon enough, Coco found herself slowly drifting into a beautifully peaceful slumber. She had vivid dreams of becoming the most magnificent butterfly in the world, and that everyone wished they could be as glamorous as she was.

What felt like merely a blink of an eye later, Coco fluttered her eyes open groggily, and slowly stretched her wings drowsily. As a result, the cocoon she was wrapped in had started to rip open, providing Coco with more room to expand her wings. A few seconds later, Coco’s lethargy had dissipated and she had come to her senses on what was happening.

This was it. This was her moment.

Excitedly, Coco ripped the rest of her cocoon open, and fully stretched her wings into the air, and gasped in astonishment and admiration.

She was finally the prettiest butterfly.

As she craned her neck to see her wings, she laughed in absolute delight. Her wings were a beautiful shade of light pink, with yellow and black spots scattered all over them. She’d never seen anything this beautiful before, and her heart swelled with absolute love and gratitude.

She leapt up into the air, moving her wings along so she could fly up, and couldn’t wipe the grin off her face as she set her sight on the landscape beneath her. It was a new world, and she intended on living to its full extent.
