Locked Away in Your Head
Are you going to succumb to your restricted fate, or will you break the barricade locking you in your own head?
Every now and then in your life (some more often than others) you can slowly start to feel confinement and compression creep over your shoulder after stealthily slithering its way up your spine and through your ear to reach your mind. The circumstances life places on a person occasionally become too unbearable, and with time, the compiled stress and pressures cloud your mind and formulate a barricade. This barricade is what I like to refer to as the Prison in Your Head.
It restricts your logical sight, dims out the light in situations, and reeks of horrendous hopelessness and negativity. It’s very tempting to give in to this prison and accept your fate because of it. You end up restricting yourself within the confinements of your own mind, limiting yourself from truly experiencing the positives in negative situations, and only perceiving the ugliness in things. You even fall victim to the ghastly lifestyle of immediately shutting down ideas involving adventure, as well as wishing for life to quit moving for a moment so you can catch your breath.
However, life doesn’t listen to desperate pleas of slowing down or halting, and it carries on moving forward. It tunes out the angry protests, glances away from the frustrated tears, and pretends like you do not exist. Life does not wait for anyone, which is why we are all given an ultimatum the moment we take our first breath in this world.
We either succumb to the unbearable hopelessness, or we smash our way out of this barricade, and escape the barricades locking us in our heads.
I know that sometimes you wake up on a morning feeling like you don’t want to get on with your day. I know that sometimes it all gets too overwhelming to the point where you’re desperately searching for a private place to cry on your own or even scream. This is my message to you to let you know that you are heard, and you aren’t alone. Every person walking this earth has felt what you’re feeling at least once throughout their lives.
So when you see a lending hand slipping through the gaps between the steel bars of your head trapping you inside, trust them enough to help pull you out.
You deserve a freed mind.
